Sculptor Danielle Anjou makes international history at The Louvre

In December 2007 Danielle Anjou made international history as the first American figurative sculptor ever to have shown at the prestigious Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts at the Louvre. This is a unique honor, as the United States has never been represented in the over one hundred years the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts has been in existence.

Anjou’s sculpture, The Diver, was selected by the SBNA to be the first American figurative sculpture shown at the prestigious exhibit. The Diver is one of the pieces in Anjou’s newest series, La Cote D’Azur, in which she captures the beauty, warmth and sensuality of the French Riviera.
